Budd Mott, 41, who owns Portishead based BVP Cleaning Services, stepped in to offer his help after reading in the Post how graffiti could affect the town’s chances at this year’s South West in Bloom competition.

Over the winter unsightly graffiti has been daubed on the electricity substation at Nore Road as well as the telephone exchange box at Wyndham Way.

Properties in the town centre, West Hill and at the Village Quarter development have also been targeted.

Another property to fall victim to the vandals is the former carpet shop at Cabstand in the centre of the town.

Chairman, Sandy Tebbutt, said: “It’s fantastic that a local business has come forward and offered to help and we’re very grateful to Mr Mott.
